Wave Hill 2025 Winter Workspace
I created a glass and light installation over this two-month artist residency inspired by the healing plants on the garden grounds, in particular a dense growth of mushrooms on a decaying log. These organic forms include an interior pattern of opaline “cells” that appear milky white in color, but transmit gold light onto the wall. Encased in a red and layered cream border, each glass form appears to grow from the wall and reflect an illuminated pattern that together form a constellation of organisms.
Currently untitled, this experimental work reflects on women’s reproductive health, the aging process, and the cycle of life in nature and human bodies.
