Passages II, 2012
Passages II at Montpelier Arts Center, Laurel, MD is the second installment of the series, which catalogues travels in China and Western Europe last year. Inspired by the aesthetic crossover of the Western world into China, this solo exhibition focuses on the cultural and social transformation of contemporary China in its most developed cities. From passing landscapes to diasporic voyages, Passages II presents an evolving perspective on China, a place with a deeply complicated and ever-changing identity. Photographs from four Chinese cities reveal transforming spaces and the present-day citizens that inhabit them.
